I mostly play EDH/Commander myself. That and pre-release and the occasional draft. I find it's a lot easier to keep up with things that way, and I think it's a lot more fun a format to boot.

On the other hand, I also have like somewhere in the range of 7 or 8+ EDH decks, even if none of them are outfitted to be as efficient or 'winning' as possible, so it's probably not quite as much a money saver as it would first sound.
I have five EDH decks, two of which I built for my girlfriend. I have come to enjoy it more than the other formats now of days. Allot more relaxed, and much better in multiplayer scenarios. Though I do sometimes run into those decks with ridiculous infinite combos that though fun, aren't fun at the same time when you lose to them.

I try to make good decks, though I wouldn't see them winning any tournaments in EDH had its own league...which it may, I've just never seen one.

What colors do you usually prefer to run?

And on another note, anyone want to hear a Star Wars joke?

Q:
Spoiler: show
Why did Darth Vader lose on Mustafar?
A:
Spoiler: show
Because Obi Won.
I would hope it would be a Magic The Gathering tournament, but alas, I don't have money to keep up with MTG. However, the new card game Force of Will, is much more manageable at the moment. It's mechanics are very similar to Magic and EDH, while drawing from a few other card games as well. My appeal to it is its anime art style and it's unique twists with some fo the cards characters.

Also, your joke gave me a laugh.

Application for Ahsoka Tey

Name: Ahsoka Tey

Age: 28

Species: Twi'lek

Faction: Neutral

Occupation: 2nd-In-Command of Drifters

Force Sensitivity: Yes

Description: Sahana is five feet eleven inches tall (5'11"), and weighs in at a hundred and forty pounds (140 lbs). She has a slim/athletic build, showing some muscle definition. She has dark red skin, a rarity among her people, but nothing unheard of. Starting from her head and ending somewhere down the lines of her thighs, she is covered in tattoos. Though not overall detailed, they had a great significance to her and do well to accentuate her slender body. Even within the norms of Twi'lek beauty, some would say she is exception. Someone you would not likely forget once seen. As with all Twileks, she has a pair of shapely prehensile tentacles that are referred to as "lekku"

Summarized Biography: Sahana grew up on the world of Ryloth, born to a meager family. As she grew, it was discovered that she had a talent for dance and was accepted into quiet a prestigious dance school on Ryloth despite her upbringing. She soon had a some admirers for her skills and unique skin color, they eventually made her father a offer he couldn't pass up. Clan customs gave her father the right to sell her, and for the money that was offered, he did just that. She spent the next chunk of her life as a slave, being treated as a possession, a very lucrative possession. She did things over these years that she is not proud of and regrets having done. But eventually a time came when her threshold was finally breached, and she couldn't do it anymore.

Sahana had been obedient enough that no one saw it coming when she killed her owner in his sleep and escaped captivity. Being on her own, she did what most in her position would do, turned to a life of crime. Her toned body from years of dancing along with almost unnatural reflexes and an affinity for dangerous animals made her career as a criminal almost easy for her. Over time, her jobs escalated from thievery, to grunt mercenary work, to assassination. Whatever paid the most, and whoever paid the most. She soon started to build a name for herself and was recruited in a mercenary group known as Drifters. All of them had an unnatural talent for things violent and in this group she found a comradery for the first time and dare even say, grew attached to some of them.

*Note: Sahana isn't my first choice for this characters name, but seeing as I can't change my username, I went with it. Is there anyway to change my account name?

Re: Flips the Switch

Any news on the status of the Jedi in this universe? Though, from where I read up to, I don't think you got that far in the history yet, if planned at all.

Re: The Force Awakens Discussion

If I had to give it a score, I would give it a 8/10. As fart as the expanded universe, there were just small things that I would be sad to miss, such as Mara Jade, the whole Yuuzhan Vong Story line for the most part. Though it has been years since I've read any of the book.
Condensed Content: show
Though it was a good movie, it is a mirror of a New Hope that doesn't live up to the original movie. It is really hard to earn a 10/10 for me.

Space Jawa wrote:So having just read through the entire history page, and presuming you can give an answer without giving away spoilers, is it safe to assume that this RP is going to be taking its primary canon cues from the Lucasverse rather than Disney's canon and the new movie?
Took me a little time to read it all, for a year by year timeline, it was a good length. I for one hope we go with "Lucasverse" rather than Disneyverse.

Re: The Force Awakens Discussion

So I finally got to see it tonight, unlike some films, once I heard they threw out the Extended universe, my interest in this dropped dramatically.
Condensed Content: show
There was loads of nods to the original series, starting witht he opening scene of the endless crawl of a Star Destroyer, though a different angle this time, but the same none the less.

The entire plot for the most part is a copy of A New Hope, down to the X-Wing assault on the "Death Star" at the end of the movie.

Some character throwbacks. Grand Moff Tarkin = General Hux, Snoke = The Emperor, Maz Kanata = Yoda. Hell, Han Solo has become the new Ben Kenobi, his death had been seen a mile away.

BB-8 filled the role of R2-D2, "plans" and everything.

The Starkiller Base, which was just a bigger version of the Death Star.

And probably one of the most saddening thing, the same endless story of the Light versus the Dark. . . .

Hell, Rey is a mirror to Luke Skywalker from her origin on a sand planet, her skill with tinkering, her powerful abilities in the force.

And the villain, was a weak villain, he was whiny and weak.

Was it a goods movie? Yes. Did it live up to the legend of the origin of trilogy? Not really. If they had just gone with something like Yuuzhan Vong Invasion. This could have been such a better movie.
