After the Battle of Endor, and the falling out with his former master Palpatine, Vader focused his efforts primarily on reestablishing order within the Imperial Military and the Empire as a whole. Despite the fear he provoked in his subordinates, a sizable number of Imperial officers miraculously grew spines of their own and formed a new faction opposing the Empire. Eventually their treason culminated in an attempt to take the Imperial capitol of Coruscant by force. From the bridge of his
flagship Vader lead the Imperial fleet to complete victory over the treasonous warlord faction, personally broadcasting the order for every Imperial vessel to fire on the Wraith. With the damage sustained from the battle, as well as scars from the past, Vader decided the Executor was no longer suitable to serve as his command ship.
